Each plugin counts once, under its first listed category. The 8 largest categories are named; the rest — including plugins the directory itself files under Other or leaves uncategorized — are grouped into Other. The current month isn't over yet, so it's shown hatched.
This view tracks the ChatGPT Plugin Directory — OpenAI’s collection of MCP-based integrations — and updates once a day. Right now that’s 6,022 plugins, last updated Mon, 12 Oct 2026 00:00:27 GMT.
OpenAI doesn’t publish popularity scores or install counts, so plugins are ranked by where the directory itself places them. The directory groups plugins into categories, and each plugin’s rank is its best position in any of them — so ties are possible.
We save a snapshot every day so you can see how rankings change over time. We’ve been tracking for 30 days so far. The growth and category charts go further back: they use the date each plugin joined the directory, so they cover its whole history. Growth is split by whether a plugin ships an in-chat Apps SDK UI or is a plain connector.
Each directory is ranked on its own. They measure different things, so comparing them wouldn’t mean anything.
