China Footnotes answers the practical questions first-time foreign visitors have about places in China. For each place it gives opening hours by weekday and season, ticket prices, booking channels and whether a foreign passport works, last entry, metro exits and a taxi card in Chinese, notices in effect, and short traveler tips. It also covers pre-trip setup: when to go, visas, paying, internet and SIM, apps, booking ahead, getting around and safety.
Every fact carries its source and the date it was read. Details we could not confirm are marked "not found yet" instead of guessed, sources that disagree are shown side by side, and traveler tips are kept apart from official rules. Coverage today: Shanghai (50 places), Beijing (20), Xi'an (10), Chengdu (12), Chongqing (10) and Hangzhou (10).
