Databricks Genie

The Databricks Genie connector exposes Genie as an agentic analytics tool over MCP. Claude sends a natural-language question, and Genie searches your enterprise structured and unstructured data, writes SQL, and returns an answer grounded in the Genie ontology with deep links back to your cited Databricks sources. Unity Catalog permissions are always enforced, so users and agents can only query data they're allowed to access. Ask with view_ask/genie_ask, get responses with genie_poll_response, and fetch full query datasets with genie_get_query_result if needed. Pass a conversation id to ask follow-ups in the same context. Clients that support MCP Apps render an interactive View showing Genie's progress, visualizations, and results inline.
