Ortexo

Ortexo connects Claude to a structured, continuously updated database of Romanian and EU law, built for legal research where it matters exactly which version of a rule applies.

What Claude can do with it

• Find and read legislation: look up articles and whole acts by citation or common name ("Legea 265/2022", "Codul fiscal"), or search by keyword or by meaning.
• Read the law as it stood on a given date: point-in-time article versions for the major codes (Fiscal Code, Fiscal Procedure Code, Civil Code, Criminal Code, Labour Code), plus repealed and historical provisions and version-to-version comparison.
• Check whether an article is still good law: whether it is in force, when it was last amended and by what, and how many decisions interpreting it rely on an older version.
• Follow the citation graph: for any article, the related legislation, amending acts and the court decisions that interpret it, each tagged with the article version the court cited.
• Search case law: Romanian courts, the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ), the CJEU and General Court, and the ECHR (including judgments against Romania).
• Work across Romanian and EU law: EU acts, their transposition into Romanian law, and the Romanian acts and decisions that cite them.
• Verify a draft: every article cited in a text is flagged as in force, repealed, nonexistent or unverifiable.

Coverage Over 170,000 Romanian acts in force; about 92,000 EU acts; about 235,000 ICCJ decisions, over 68,000 rulings from Romanian courts, 48,000 CJEU/General Court documents and 75,000 ECHR judgments. ECHR texts are in English or French; semantic search works across languages. Snapshot coverage varies by law: a date with no result means the snapshot is missing, not that the rule did not exist.
