Rapier gives you and ChatGPT an editable page to work on together. Write and organise Markdown, edit code blocks, add pictures, draw, paint and build diagrams in the same document.

Ask ChatGPT to turn an idea into a plan, explain something visually, rewrite a section, sketch a layout or map out a system. You can edit the page yourself, rearrange drawing objects and review proposed changes before accepting them. ChatGPT can make focused edits and undo its own recorded changes while preserving your later work.

Keep your work as portable Markdown. In a host with file and code execution, the included skills can also make a single editable HTML file that opens offline, or help embed Rapier in your own app. The hosted editor does not need a Rapier account.

Only the document you share with the hosted workspace is sent to Rapier's service. Hosted workspaces expire after 30 idle days; save a copy to keep it. Rapier cannot access unshared files or notes on your device. Painting and JPEG XL pictures depend on the host browser's image support.

Example prompts

  • “Turn these notes into a document I can keep editing in Rapier.”
  • “Propose a clearer opening in Rapier and let me review the changes.”
  • “Draw an editable diagram of these steps in Rapier.”

Skills

  • embed-rapier

Puts the Rapier document editor inside a site or app as an iframe that loads the app's own document and saves back to the app's own storage, with the rapier-embed helper from npm. Use when an app or site wants a document editor it does not host, meter or maintain, when asked for an "Open in Rapier" button, or when a product's documents should be edited in Rapier and saved where they already live.

  • rapier-agent-door

Create and revise shared, editable explanations and documents in Rapier. Use when visual explanations of systems or processes, substantial drafts and plans, reviewable revisions, spatial sketches, or creative work benefit from a page the person can explore and change with the agent. Recognise these needs even without the words Rapier, diagram or diff. Also use for existing Rapier documents and requests sent from inside the editor. Keep brief answers and chat-only requests in the conversation; honour a requested format or tool.

  • rapier-html

Deliver a document as one offline HTML file carrying the Rapier editor, with editable source, an inspectable proposal diff and an optional Send back address. Use when a plan, visual explanation, creative canvas, draft or reviewable revision would benefit from a lasting editable page, including an offline drawing, proposal diff or returned changes. Recognise the editable-delivery need without requiring the person to name Rapier. Ordinary answers and drafts requested only in the conversation do not need a page.

  • rapier-markdown

Write or check Self-contained Markdown documents with embedded pictures, portable layout, colour and editable SVG drawings over CommonMark and GFM. Use when working on a Rapier document, a request for a self-contained Markdown file, or preparing an editable page with rapier-html. An ordinary chat answer using Markdown formatting does not need this skill.
