SimpleBackups

SimpleBackups helps ChatGPT and Codex back up application data before deployments, database migrations, and other changes, diagnose backup failures, and prepare recovery from successful backups.

Run an existing backup with your authorization, check its completion status, identify recent successful recovery points, and retrieve restore links and instructions. Investigate failures using actual run output, review backup history, inspect server and storage inventory, and pause or resume backup schedules. Backup runs, schedule changes, and restore preparation require write permission.

Works with configured database, file, cloud storage, and application backups. Supported sources include Supabase, Neon, PlanetScale, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, GitHub, Notion, Linear, and other SimpleBackups integrations.

Requires an existing SimpleBackups account with MCP access enabled and backups configured in the dashboard. Operations are limited to your connected team and granted permissions. Use a configured backup name or ID to select a resource. A queued backup must complete successfully before it can serve as a recovery point.

Recovery tools prepare access and instructions; they do not execute restores or overwrite databases. Provider onboarding, discovery of unconfigured resources, and deletion are unsupported.
