Each plugin counts once, under its first listed category. The 8 largest categories are named; the rest — including plugins the directory itself files under Other or leaves uncategorized — are grouped into Other. The current month isn't over yet, so it's shown hatched.
This view tracks the Cursor Plugin Marketplace — plugins for the Cursor editor that bundle MCP servers, skills, commands, rules, hooks and subagents — and updates once a day. Right now that’s 428 plugins, last updated Mon, 12 Oct 2026 00:00:27 GMT.
Cursor doesn’t publish install counts, ratings or scores, so nothing here measures popularity. By default, plugins are sorted by join date, newest first. The Most components tab ranks them by how much they bundle instead — all the component types above, counted together. That’s a measure of breadth, not quality or usage: a bigger plugin isn’t necessarily a better one.
The marketplace has its own listing order, but it’s just newest-first as well, so we sort by join date directly rather than treating that order as a ranking.
We save a snapshot every day so you can see how rankings change over time. We’ve been tracking for 30 days so far. The growth and category charts go further back: they use the date each plugin joined, so they cover the marketplace’s whole history. Growth is split by whether Cursor has verified the publisher — Cursor verifies publishers, not individual plugins.
Each directory is ranked on its own. They measure different things, so comparing them wouldn’t mean anything.
