Home finds homes for sale and to rent across the United Kingdom from home.co.uk, right in the conversation. Describe what you want in your own words: a town, city or postcode, buying or renting, your budget, how many bedrooms, new build or not, newest or lowest price first, and what you want in the home itself, such as a garden, off-road parking, a quiet street, period features, open-plan living, a home office or no onward chain. Home shows the matching houses and flats as photo cards and a map, with asking price or rent, bedrooms, tenure, the date each one was added, how long it has been on the market, whether it has been reduced or gone under offer, and the listing's own words for each feature you asked about.
Open any result for the full picture in chat: every photo, the complete description, the agent, key facts and, where the published address can be matched to a property, checks from Homedata such as the EPC energy rating, council tax band, flood and other environmental risks, broadband, nearby schools and recorded crime. Keep a shortlist and compare two to four homes side by side. See which homes are within a walk, cycle or drive of a station, office, school or postcode, and put up to six viewings in the quickest driving order for the day. Ask what an area is like for schools, broadband, recorded crime and local house price growth, see recent sold prices and typical rents nearby, find local estate and letting agents, and estimate stamp duty or monthly mortgage repayments from your own figures.
Home also brings five workflows: what can I afford, turning a monthly budget and deposit into a price and the homes at it; prepare for a viewing, with a checklist and questions for the agent built from the home's own details; plan a viewing day, with the order, the driving between stops and what to ask at each; shortlist and compare, ranking homes against what matters to you, commute included; and buying costs, setting out stamp duty, deposit, loan and monthly repayments together.
It is for anyone house hunting: first-time buyers, movers, renters and families comparing places to live. Searching, viewing property details, comparing homes and using the planning and calculator tools need no account.
Limitations: Home does not value homes or forecast prices, list a home, contact agents for you, or decide mortgage eligibility. Calculator results are estimates, not tax or financial advice, and stamp duty covers England and Northern Ireland. Commute and driving times are typical estimates, not timetables or live traffic. Availability and status are snapshots from the time of the search.
Example prompts
- “Find three-bedroom houses for sale in Bath with a garden, newest first”
- “Which two-bedroom homes for sale in Bristol are within a 15-minute cycle of Temple Meads?”
- “What could I buy in Bristol paying 1,500 a month with a 40,000 deposit?”
Skills
buying-costs
Use when someone asks what buying a home would cost them up front or each month, including stamp duty, deposit, loan and mortgage repayments, for a Home result or a price they give.
plan-a-viewing-day
Use when someone has two to six homes in mind, from a Home search or shortlist, and wants to see them in one day, or asks for the best order to view them and how much driving it is.
prepare-for-a-viewing
Use when someone has a home in mind, from a Home search or a home.co.uk link, and is going to view it or wants to know what to check and ask before making an offer.
shortlist-and-compare
Use when someone is choosing between two to four homes, asks which of their Home search results suits them best, or wants their shortlist ranked.
what-can-i-afford
Use when someone gives their budget as a monthly repayment, a deposit or savings rather than a price ("what could I buy paying 1,600 a month with a 40,000 deposit?") and wants to know the price that fits and see homes for sale at it.
